Run the ArtCraft Crafting Apps in Your Browser (No Install)

All 13 ArtCraft apps (PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, FilmCraft, PdfCraft, WordCraft and more) compile to WebAssembly. Here's how to use them online, which browsers work, and what's different from the desktop apps.

Every one of the ArtCraft Crafting Apps is written in Rust and compiles to WebAssembly, so the same app you’d install on your desktop also runs in a browser tab. Each release includes a <app>-web-<version>.zip static build, and this site hosts those official builds unmodified.

Is it private?

Yes. The apps run entirely on your device. There is no server-side code: opening a file uses your browser’s file picker, and Save or Export downloads the result. Nothing you open is uploaded to artcraftsuite.org or anywhere else. LightCraft keeps its photo library in your browser’s own storage (OPFS/IndexedDB), and preferences live in local storage.

Which browsers work?

  • Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc (desktop): best experience. WebGPU is available, so rendering is GPU-accelerated.
  • Firefox and Safari: work through the WebGL2 fallback. Some apps note that Safari and Firefox testing is still in progress.
  • Phones and tablets: they load, but these are desktop apps with desktop UIs. Use a laptop or desktop.

The first load downloads a large WebAssembly file (roughly 10–60 MB depending on the app), which is then cached. Expect a few seconds on a fast connection, longer for the biggest ones (VectorCraft, EffectCraft). Subsequent visits are much quicker.

Desktop vs browser: what’s different?

Desktop Browser
Install Yes No
Opening files Native dialogs, drag and drop Browser file picker, drag and drop
Saving Writes to disk Downloads a file
Autosave / crash recovery Yes (most apps) Limited; save before closing the tab
Plug-ins (e.g. SoundCraft VST3/CLAP) Yes Built-in effects only
MCP / agent control Yes No
Printing Yes Varies by app

Save your work before closing the tab. The web builds don’t autosave to disk the way the desktop apps do.

Troubleshooting

  • Stuck on “Loading…”. Reload. If it persists, your network may block large downloads; try another network or the desktop app.
  • Blank or black canvas. Update your browser and graphics driver. Some apps accept ?webgl in the URL to force the WebGL fallback, for example /app/photocraft/?webgl.
  • Keyboard shortcuts clash with the browser. Shortcuts like ⌘W or Ctrl+N may be grabbed by the browser. Use the app’s menus, or install the desktop version.

Why host it here?

The ArtCraft team publishes the web builds as release assets for anyone to host. We serve them from Cloudflare’s network so you can open any app with one click. When a new version is released, we update to the official build. Each app page shows which version is live.
